In a gesture reflecting the state’s high regard, senior ministers including Nara Lokesh received Bill Gates at Gannavaram Airport. Upon arrival at the Secretariat, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu personally welcomed him.
In a warm and friendly moment, Bill Gates greeted the Chief Minister with, “Hello, my friend! How are you?” — setting a cordial tone for the day’s engagements.
Breakfast Meeting & Spiritual Exchange
During a breakfast meeting at the Chief Minister’s chamber, Chandrababu Naidu presented Bill Gates with a portrait of Lord Venkateswara from Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. The Chief Minister explained the spiritual and cultural significance of Tirumala, sharing insights into its historical and devotional importance.
Technology-Driven Governance Showcased at RTG Center
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister escorted Gates to the RTG (Real-Time Governance) Center, where he demonstrated how Andhra Pradesh leverages advanced technologies in governance, disaster management, and citizen service delivery.

The Chief Minister also presented progress updates on the Sanjeevani Project implemented in Kuppam in partnership with the Gates Foundation. Gates responded positively, stating, “That’s nice,” while acknowledging the impact of such healthcare initiatives.
He emphasized that affordable diagnostic testing could significantly benefit economically weaker sections and improve public health outcomes.
Amaravati Master Plan Receives Appreciation
Bill Gates was briefed on the Amaravati capital city master plan, particularly the Blue-Green development concept and its futuristic urban planning model.
Impressed by the sustainable and forward-thinking approach, Gates appreciated the vision, calling it “great work.” The Chief Minister explained how the capital is being designed to meet future needs while prioritizing sustainability.
A key focus area discussed was the government’s plan to power the capital region predominantly through green energy sources, positioning Amaravati as a future-ready, environmentally responsible city.
