TTD Board Approves Integrated Township in Tirupati, Sri Vari Temple in Mumbai; Key Decisions Announced

Tirumala, December 16, 2025:
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board of Trustees, under the chairmanship of TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu, held an important meeting on Tuesday at Annamayya Bhavan, Tirumala, and took several key decisions aimed at enhancing pilgrim facilities, temple infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employee welfare.
Integrated Township for Devotees
In a major decision for the convenience of devotees, the Board approved the planning and appointment of an architect for the construction of an integrated township on 20 acres in Tirupati. The township is proposed to offer modern amenities to pilgrims visiting Tirumala.
Sri Vari Temple in Mumbai
The Board accorded approval for the construction of a Sri Vari temple in the Bandra area of Mumbai, with an estimated cost of ₹14.40 crore, strengthening spiritual outreach beyond Andhra Pradesh.
Temple Infrastructure & Conservation
- Approval was given to cultivate sacred trees on 100 acres in Palamaneru, specifically for the manufacture of flagpoles and temple chariots.
- A special department will be created for the protection of ancient and historically significant structures in Tirumala and along the footpath routes, with experienced officers to be appointed.
- For the Sri Siddheswara Swamy Temple at Talakona, ₹14.10 crore was sanctioned for the second phase of reconstruction works, following an earlier sanction of ₹4 crore.
- Approval was granted for the creation of one main Yadava post and an additional Yadava post at Srivari Temple, to be filled as per norms.
Renaming of Roads in Tirumala
A committee was constituted to rename roads and major junctions in Tirumala using names from Vaishnava Puranas, Alwars, and Lord Venkateswara’s names as found in Annamacharya’s compositions.
The committee members include:
- Dr. Chakravarthy Ranganathan, Director, Distance Education Centre, National Sanskrit University
- Dr. Medasani Mohan, Special Officer, Annamacharya Project
- Dr. D. Prabhakar Krishnamurthy, Special Officer, Puranas and Epics Project
Healthcare & Education Initiatives
- The Board approved an additional ₹48 crore to enhance facilities at the Sri Padmavathi Children’s Heart Centre, Tirupati, making it a state-of-the-art medical facility.
- Based on recommendations of the TTD Board Education Sub-Committee, approval was given to introduce digital classrooms, CCTV cameras, computers, required software, staff, and infrastructure in all 31 TTD educational institutions.
- Hostel capacity at Sri Padmavathi Women’s Degree College, Tirupati, will be increased by 270 seats, adding to the existing 2,100 seats.
- Midday meals will be provided to day scholars of TTD SV Junior College and SPW Junior College, on the lines of the State Government’s junior college meal scheme.
Administrative & Staffing Decisions
- The Board decided to fill 60 vacant posts across four categories in the TTD Engineering Department based on the existing notification.
- A proposal will be submitted to the government seeking approval for 18 new Potu Supervisor (Cook) posts at Sri Vari Potu (temple kitchen).
- Maintenance and repair works for TTD-managed roads and streetlights in Tirupati will continue.
Devotee Facilities
Approval was given for the construction of an accommodation complex for devotees at the Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple in Kondagattu, Jagitial district.
Salary Hike for TTD Temple Staff
The Board approved a salary revision for 62 employees working in TTD-affiliated temples. The revised salaries are:
- Priests: ₹25,000 to ₹45,000
- Attendants: ₹23,140 to ₹30,000
- Kitchen Workers: ₹24,279 to ₹30,000
- Prasadam Distributors: ₹23,640 to ₹30,000
