Freight Capacity: The upgrade will enable an additional freight capacity of 4 million tonnes annually, supporting the transport of goods like coal, cement, agricultural produce, and minerals.
Environmental Benefits: The project is projected to reduce diesel consumption by 4 crore liters and cut down CO2 emissions by about 20 crore kilograms.
Local Impact: Around 400 villages and nearly 14 lakh people will benefit directly or indirectly from this infrastructure development, with job opportunities expected during the construction phase.
National Infrastructure Mission: This project is part of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which aims for integrated and faster development of infrastructure across the country.
