A Major Boost to Rayalaseema’s Industrial, Road, and Railway Infrastructure

In a landmark development for Andhra Pradesh, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Kurnool on October 16 at the invitation of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several key projects worth an estimated ₹13,430 crore, marking a significant milestone in the state’s path toward accelerated growth.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), these initiatives will provide a major push to industrial, road, and railway sectors, particularly benefiting the Rayalaseema region.

Key Projects to Be Launched by Prime Minister Modi

1️⃣ Kurnool-3 Pooling Station Transmission System – ₹2,880 Crore

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Kurnool-3 Pooling Station Connection Transmission System, a ₹2,880 crore initiative aimed at enhancing power supply capacity across the Rayalaseema region.
This project will play a vital role in ensuring reliable and efficient electricity distribution to support growing industrial and residential needs.

2️⃣ Industrial Corridors – ₹4,920 Crore

PM Modi will also launch development works for the Orvakal and Kopparthi Industrial Corridors, including the Papaghni River Bridge and S. Gundlapalli–Kanigiri Bypass Road.
These projects, jointly implemented by NICDIT and APIIC, will open new avenues for industrial growth and connectivity.

Once completed, these corridors are expected to attract investments worth ₹21,000 crore and generate over one lakh jobs, transforming the Rayalaseema region into a major industrial hub of South India.

3️⃣ Road Development Projects

Significant investments are being made to improve road infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh.
Key projects include:

Sabbavaram–Sheelanagar Greenfield Road – Construction begins at a cost of ₹960 crore.
Peeleru–Kaluru Four-Lane Expansion – Foundation stone laid for a ₹1,140 crore project.
Gudivada–Nujella Railway Overbridge – Construction officially begins.

These projects will enhance regional connectivity, improve logistics efficiency, and facilitate smoother transport of goods and passengers.

4️⃣ Railway Projects and Road Inaugurations

Several vital rail and road infrastructure projects will also be inaugurated during the visit:

Kothavalasa–Vizianagaram Fourth Lane Road (₹1,200 crore) inaugurated.
Pendurthi–Simhachalam Railway Overbridge opened to the public.
Kothavalasa–Boddavara and Similiguda–Gorapur railway sections dedicated to the nation.
GAIL Gas Pipeline Project inaugurated to strengthen India’s energy infrastructure.

These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to boosting connectivity and industrial logistics across Andhra Pradesh.

Cultural Visit and Public Address

As part of his itinerary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Shivaji Sthori Kendra before participating in the public programme at Kurnool, where he will address the gathering and outline the government’s vision for Andhra Pradesh’s long-term development.
