Dr. G. V. Selvam — Vice President of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).

Early Career & Education

Dr. Selvam holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Madras.
In 1999, he assumed office as Vice-Chairman of Vellore Engineering College (which later became VIT).

Key Milestones in the Institution

Under his leadership, the transition of Vellore Engineering College into VIT University in 2001 was carried out, and he became the first Pro-Chancellor of the University.
He held the distinction of being recognised in the Limca Book of Records (in 2005) as the youngest Pro-Chancellor of a university.
In 2010, he became the first Vice-President of the VIT Chennai campus, overseeing the building of the campus from scratch, including the infrastructure, high-rise structures, and green campus initiatives.
