₹1,358 Crore Development Works Approved for Amaravati LPS-8 Zone at CRDA’s 56th Meeting

The 56th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) was held at the Secretariat on Monday under the chairmanship of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during which major infrastructure and development projects worth ₹1,358 crore were approved for the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS-8) zone in Amaravati.
The sanctioned amount will be utilised for the development of layouts, including roads, drainage systems, water supply, power infrastructure, and other essential civic amenities aimed at accelerating the planned growth of the capital region.
Key Approvals in the CRDA Meeting
In addition to the LPS-8 development works, the CRDA approved several other high-value projects critical to Amaravati’s urban resilience and technological advancement:
₹444 crore Flood Pumping Station
Approval was granted for the establishment of a high-capacity flood pumping station with a discharge capacity of 8,400 cusecs. This project is aimed at preventing waterlogging and strengthening flood management systems in the capital region, especially during monsoon seasons.
₹109 crore for AIS Officers’ Residential Quarters
The authority sanctioned additional funds of ₹109 crore for enhancing facilities in the residential quarters being constructed for All India Services (AIS) officers, ensuring better living standards and supporting administrative efficiency.
₹104 crore Quantum Computing Research Centre
Nearly ₹104 crore was approved for the establishment of a Quantum Computing Research Centre in Amaravati, positioning the capital city as a future hub for advanced research, innovation, and next-generation technologies.
Vision for Amaravati’s Growth
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that these approvals reflect the government’s commitment to systematic urban planning, flood resilience, administrative infrastructure, and cutting-edge technology development in Amaravati. The projects are expected to boost investor confidence, enhance livability, and reinforce Amaravati’s vision as a world-class capital city.
With these decisions, the CRDA continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the sustainable and technology-driven future of Andhra Pradesh’s capital region.
